Job summary

REESON Education is recruiting an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant for a long-term role at a primary school in Greater Manchester. The role involves providing dedicated 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil with SEMH needs, working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and pastoral team.

The position offers Monday to Friday hours, full-time, with competitive pay of £14.25 - £16.65 per hour (PAYE or Umbrella) and an ASAP start. DBS on Update Service preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous SEMH Teaching Assistant or similar experience.
• Experience supporting SEMH, ASD, ADHD or challenging behaviour.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support as an SEMH Teaching Assistant for a KS2 pupil with SEMH needs.
• Support the pupil both inside and outside the classroom as an SEMH Teaching Assistant.
• Use positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies as an SEMH Teaching Assistant.
• Encourage emotional regulation, resilience and confidence.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and contribute to pupil progress reviews.
