We’re partnering with a number of fantastic mainstream primary schools across Southwark who are looking for SEMH Teaching Assistants to provide nurturing, targeted support to pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Your Role as a SEMH TA in Primary:
Build positive, trusting relationships with children who may struggle with confidence, behaviour, or anxiety
Support pupils 1:1 or in small groups to build resilience, self-esteem and emotional understanding
️ Implement behaviour and wellbeing strategies to support learning and reduce disruption
Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to meet each child’s unique needs
Foster a safe, calm, and supportive environment where every child can succeed
We’re Looking For:
Experience working with children with SEMH needs, ideally in a primary setting
A nurturing, consistent, and proactive approach
Great communication and teamwork skills
A strong desire to make a real difference in young lives
A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
