Job summary

Reed is seeking a Teaching Assistant for a specialist school near Alton/Farnham, Hampshire. The role is full-time, term-time only, with a daily rate of £100–£130, starting ASAP or negotiable.

You will support pupils with SEMH needs, build relationships, and work with teachers and therapists in a nurturing, therapeutic environment, aiming to help learners re-engage and achieve progress.

Qualifications

• Have experience working with children or young people.
• Experience within SEMH, SEND, youth work, care or alternative provision settings (desirable).
• Are calm, patient and resilient.
• Are confident building positive relationships with young people.
• Have a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners.
• Can be a positive role model and advocate for pupils' success.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in classroom and outdoor learning environments.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with young people.
• Help manage behaviour positively and consistently.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and pastoral teams.
• Encourage independence, confidence and personal development.
• Celebrate achievements and help pupils reach their potential.
