Job summary

Qualifications

• Has experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs.
• Can remain calm, patient, and consistent in challenging situations.
• Understands behaviour as communication and takes a nurturing approach.
• Has experience in schools, alt provisions, youth work, residential care, mentoring, or similar settings.
• Is confident setting boundaries while building positive relationships.
• Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEMH needs.
• Work 1:1 and in small groups to help pupils access learning.
• Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour using positive strategies.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support emotional regulation and social development.
• Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and SEND professionals.
