Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting a SEMH Teaching Assistant for Ellesmere Port. The role is full-time and long-term, offering £95-£105 per day to support students with SEMH needs in a specialist setting.

Ideal candidates will have experience in SEMH schools, behaviour support, PRUs/Alternative Provision, youth work and related roles, with strong behaviour management and a calm, patient approach. DBS on update service preferred or willing to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEMH, behaviour needs or SEN.
• Strong behaviour management skills.
• Calm, resilient and patient personality.
• DBS on the update service (or willing to apply).
• Team Teach training desirable (not essential).

Responsibilities

• Supporting students on a 1:1 and small group basis.
• Managing behaviour and supporting emotional regulation.
• Building positive relationships with pupils.
• Supporting students who may display challenging behaviour.
• Working closely with teachers and pastoral teams.
• Helping students engage with education and learning.
