Job summary

Vision for Education is seeking an SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils across the primary age range in a specialist provision in Blackpool, Lancashire from September 2026. The role is expected to continue for the 2026/27 academic year, with potential for a permanent opportunity in 2027 for the right candidate.

The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will work with teaching staff to deliver tailored support on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping children with SEMH needs engage

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or adults with autism, associated behavioural difficulties, trauma-informed practice or other additional needs is highly desirable.
• The ideal candidate will be patient, calm, adaptable and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across the primary age range on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Assist teaching staff to help pupils engage with learning and develop confidence, emotional regulation and independence.
