Teaching Personnel is excited to offer an opportunity for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join one of our valued partner schools in Yeovil starting September 2025, with the possibility of an earlier start.

This well-established school supports children and young people aged 4 to 18 with a range of special educational needs, including social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
You'll play a vital role in nurturing pupils with conditions such as anxiety, trauma, autism, and attachment-related needs in both primary and secondary phases. The school is celebrated for its inclusive, supportive culture where staff work closely to meet individual student needs and promote positive learning outcomes.
Role Details
This is a full-time position running Monday to Friday, with working hours typically from 8.30am to 3.30pm. However, start and end times may vary slightly depending on the day of the week. To ensure fairness, this is an hourly-paid role, so you're compensated for every hour you contribute.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEMH and other complex needs
Foster strong, respectful relationships that encourage emotional resilience
Assist in classroom activities and tailored learning plans across a range of age groups
Support the class teacher with behaviour management, academic progress, and emotional well-being
Promote a safe, positive, and stimulating environment
