Academics is seeking SEMH Teaching Assistant roles across Runcorn and surrounding areas to support learners with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviour. You will help students engage with learning, build confidence and work closely with teachers to deliver lessons and pastoral support.
Roles are flexible: daily supply, short- or long-term placements, with options for full-time or part-time schedules. A DBS check is required or in progress, enabling you to work across a range of specialist schools.

Pay Rate: Competitive, based on experience (£95 - £105 per day, depending on qualifications and background)

Behaviour Management: Implement effective, positive behaviour management strategies within the classroom and small groups.
De-escalation: Apply proven de-escalation techniques calmly and professionally to support students experiencing emotional distress or crisis.
Teacher & Pastoral Support: Assist teachers with lesson delivery, resource preparation, and work alongside pastoral teams to monitor student wellbeing.
Relationship Building: Establish strong, trusting, and positive relationships with vulnerable pupils, acting as a reliable mentor and advocate.
Progress Tracking: Help record and monitor student engagement and emotional progress.
Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
