Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant for a small specialist setting in Salford (M27). The role supports pupils aged 11–16 who need extra help to access education, focusing on creating respectful, meaningful relationships and an inclusive learning environment.

The post is full-time, temporary, starting immediately with a contract through July 2027. Hours are 8:30am–4:00pm, Monday to Friday, with a starter rate of GBP100 per day.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate with a 2:2 or higher, or TA experience in a similar setting.
• Previous experience working in a UK school is desirable.
• Safeguarding training updated in the last year.

SEN Teaching Assistant - FULL TIME, UNTIL JULY 2027 - STARTING IMMEDIATELY

We are working with a small, specialist setting in Salford (M27) who are looking to add several teaching assistants to their small yet highly supportive team.

Our school provides a tailored education to young people aged between 11 and 16, who find accessing mainstream education challenging - there will be a high focus on building professional, respectful and meaningful relationships with young people who need consistency and focus in their education.

Despite being a small setting, our Headteacher prides themselves on offering an inclusive learning environment where young people can thrive.

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• Recent Graduate, with a 2:2 or higher, OR Experience as a TA in a similar setting, OR experience working with young people in a vocational/coaching capacity
• Previous experience working in a UK school
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
