Job summary

Prospero Teaching seeks a SEN Teaching Assistant for a small specialist setting in Bolton. The role is full-time, temporary, starting immediately and running until July 2027, with hours 8:30am to 4:00pm.

The successful candidate will support students aged 11–16 who face challenges in accessing mainstream education, focusing on building respectful, consistent relationships and facilitating inclusive learning. DBS and safeguarding compliance are required.

SEN Teaching Assistant

FULL TIME, UNTIL JULY 2027 - STARTING IMMEDIATELY

We are working with a small, specialist setting in Bolton (BL1) who are looking to add several teaching assistants to their small yet highly supportive team.

Our school provides a tailored education to young people aged between 11 and 16, who find accessing mainstream education challenging - there will be a high focus on building professional, respectful and meaningful relationships with young people who need consistency and focus in their education.

Despite being a small setting, our Headteacher prides themselves on offering an inclusive learning environment where young people can thrive.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Recent Graduate, with a 2:2 or higher, OR Experience as a TA in a similar setting, OR experience working with young people in a vocational/coaching capacity.
• Previous experience working in a UK school
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references
