Prospero Teaching is working with a small specialist setting in Blackburn (BB2) seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 11–18 who need tailored education and personalised support. This is a full-time, temporary position starting immediately, running until July 2027.

Applicants should have recent UK school experience, a 2:2 or higher degree (or equivalent TA experience), and up-to-date safeguarding training. Right to work in the UK and two professional references are required.

SEN Teaching Assistant

FULL TIME, UNTIL JULY 2027 - STARTING IMMEDIATELY

We are working with a small, specialist setting in Blackburn (BB2) who are looking to add several teaching assistants to their small yet highly supportive team.

Our school provides a tailored education to young people aged between 11 and 18, who find accessing mainstream education challenging - there will be a high focus on building professional, respectful and meaningful relationships with young people who need consistency and focus in their education.

Despite being a small setting, our Headteacher prides themselves on offering an inclusive learning environment where young people can thrive.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

• Minimum rate of pay - GBP100
• Hours - 8:30am to 4pm

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Recent Graduate, with a 2:2 or higher, OR Experience as a TA in a similar setting, OR experience working with young people in a vocational/coaching capacity

• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references
