Position Details

About The Role

Are you skilled in building relationships and managing challenging behaviors? We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support children with social, emotional, and mental health needs in a specialist setting in Preston. You will work with small groups of students from Year 7 to Year 11, supporting their emotional and behavioral development and helping them overcome barriers to learning.

School Information

The school offers a broad curriculum tailored to students' needs, including vocational learning, with small class sizes of no more than 8 pupils. There are opportunities for permanent employment after a qualifying period.

Requirements
  • Strong behavior management skills, including de-escalation techniques
  • Ability to mentor and deliver tailored educational packages
  • Resilience, empathy, patience, and professionalism
  • Experience with SEMH children is desirable
