Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a SEMH Teaching Assistant to support children and young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs at a Redbridge school. You will work with students aged 5-19 who may present challenging behaviour.

Experience with SEND, SEMH, autism and ADHD is helpful; you will build strong relationships and provide pastoral and educational support. DBS check will be arranged; immediate start.

Qualifications

• Experience as Teaching Assistant / Learning Mentor with SEND/SEMH.
• Ability to build strong, meaningful relationships with pupils.
• Passion for working with SEND and supporting students with behavioural challenges.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEMH in a secondary school setting, including those with challenging behaviour.
• Contribute to pastoral support and daily classroom activities to aid learning and wellbeing.

SEMH Teaching Assistant

• Competitive rates between £90/£120 depending on experience

Do you have a passion and talent for supporting children and young people with social, emotional, and mental health disorders? Are you interested in supporting children who have challenging behaviour? Do you have experience working as a Secondary Teaching Assistant / Learning Mentor with young people who cannot attend mainstream school and have a background of behavioural challenges? Are you keen to make a difference to the lives of children and young people whilst building your experience and furthering your career in SEND/SEMH?

Even if your experience is informal/voluntary, I want to hear from you! The children you will support will have various needs, including significant complex behaviour challenges and sometimes associated SEND. The SEMH School are looking for a SEMH Teaching Assistants to work with students AGED 5-19.

Experience of working with young people with SEND and/or Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties and learning difficulties or experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication.

• Ability to build a strong and meaningful relationship
