Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a Radcliffe-based primary school. You will work with teaching and pastoral staff to help pupils manage emotions, build confidence and engage with learning.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH/SEND.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Calm, patient and empathetic approach.
• Strong behaviour management skills.
• Passion for improving children's outcomes.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Support emotional regulation using positive behaviour strategies.
• Encourage engagement with learning activities.
• Work closely with teachers, SENDCOs and external professionals.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff.
• Promote inclusion, resilience and independence.
• Follow safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times.

SEMH Teaching Assistant - Radcliffe, Bury

Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a welcoming primary school in the Radcliffe area. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with social, emotional and mental health needs to achieve success both inside and outside the classroom.

Working alongside experienced teaching and pastoral staff, you will provide tailored support to pupils who may require additional help managing emotions, building confidence and engaging positively with learning. You will play an important role in creating a calm, consistent and nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued and able to reach their full potential.
