Prospero Teaching is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant for a small specialist setting in Bury (BL9). The role is full-time, temporary, from November 2026 to July 2027, with hours 8:30am–4:00pm.

The school supports students aged 11–18 who struggle in mainstream education and emphasizes respectful, meaningful relationships in a structured environment. The candidate must have UK safeguarding training within the last year, rights to work in the UK, enhanced DBS, and two professional references.

• Recent Graduate with a 2:2 or higher, OR TA experience in a similar setting, OR youth/work with young people in a vocational/coaching capacity
• Previous experience working in a UK school

SEN Teaching Assistant

FULL TIME, UNTIL JULY 2027 - STARTING IMMEDIATELY

We are working with a small, specialist setting in Bury (BL9) who are looking to add several teaching assistants to their small yet highly supportive team.

Our school provides a tailored education to young people aged between 11 and 18, who find accessing mainstream education challenging - there will be a high focus on building professional, respectful and meaningful relationships with young people who need consistency and focus in their education.

Despite being a small setting, our Headteacher prides themselves on offering an inclusive learning environment where young people can thrive.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Recent Graduate, with a 2:2 or higher, OR Experience as a TA in a similar setting, OR experience working with young people in a vocational/coaching capacity
• Previous experience working in a UK school
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references
