Job Advert: Behaviour Support Assistant
Location: Longsight, Manchester
Position: Full-Time, Monday to Friday
Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Start Date: ASAP
About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team in Longsight, Manchester. This is a full-time, term-time role where you will support children and young people with behavioural challenges, helping them overcome barriers to learning and development. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with additional needs, be proactive, and have a positive, calm approach to behaviour management.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students on a 1:1 or small group basis to manage and improve behaviour.
  • Assist in implementing individualised behaviour intervention plans.
  • Provide emotional and social support to students.
  • Work closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure the needs of students are met.
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage social skills development.
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress and behaviours.


Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children, particularly those with behavioural challenges or additional needs.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting students.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable but not essential.
