Requirements – Qualified Teaching Assistant or minimum of 12 weeks experience within a classroom environment. DBS on Update Service or willing to obtain one.
About the role
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to get creative, support with the running of classes, assist with behaviour management, and inspire learners. Each day presents a new opportunity to educate pupils through interactive and engaging lessons. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of SEN, a forward-thinking outlook, and be dedicated to the growth and development of all pupils. You must be adaptable, reliable, and committed. This role can potentially be a temp to perm with the right candidate.
About the school
Our client is a SEND school for pupils with additional learning needs, many of which have additional ‘barriers to learning’. This would include ADHD, ASD, and SEMH. Although sometimes challenging, you will not find job satisfaction like it anywhere else. All pupils have an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) which identifies social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges as the primary barrier to learning. They specialise in supporting young people who are autistic or have conditions such as ADHD, attachment disorders, and anxiety.
