Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant

Are you passionate about working with children with SEMH (social, emotional, mental health needs)?

Do you have the ability to emotionally support children from vulnerable backgrounds and circumstances?

Are you a resilient individual with positive behaviour management skills?

We are seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to deliver person-centred support to individuals presenting high levels of complex needs and challenging behaviours related to learning disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions, and mental health issues. The role involves working with children and young people requiring 1:1 support for reasons such as:

  • Anxiety
  • Exclusion
  • Speech and language difficulties
  • Physical and mental health issues, disabilities, and learning difficulties
Candidate Requirements:
  • Experience working with children and young people displaying challenging behaviour
  • De-escalation training (advantageous)
  • Background in youth work or similar roles considered
  • Confidence in decision-making
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships
  • Empathy and understanding
  • Willingness to pursue professional training and development
