Milk Education is recruiting a SEMH Teacher to join a specialist setting in Birtley, Gateshead, supporting pupils aged 11–16 with SEMH needs. The role starts January 2027 and offers a nurturing, supportive environment with small class sizes (max 6 students).

Milk Education is recruiting a SEMH Teacher to join a specialist setting supporting young people aged 11–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
The school provides a nurturing and highly supportive environment for students who may have experienced trauma, adverse childhood experiences and barriers to learning. Students may present with complex emotional and behavioural needs, meaning a patient, adaptable and relationship-focused approach is essential.
The school offers small class sizes, with a maximum of 6 students in each class, allowing teachers to provide a highly personalised approach and give each young person the individual support and attention they need.
As an SEMH Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs, abilities and interests of your students. You will work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff and the wider school team to create a calm and positive learning environment where students feel safe, valued and encouraged to achieve.
