Job summary

Milk Education is seeking compassionate SEMH Support Mentors to work within Primary Schools across Sunderland and South Tyneside. The role offers flexible Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities with a competitive daily rate.

As an SEMH mentor, you will provide 1:1 and small‑group support, help pupils manage emotions, develop coping strategies, and build positive relationships with staff and families. You will be a trusted, patient role model, enabling children to feel safe, engaged and confident

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, behavioural, or additional support needs.
• A calm, patient, and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to remain resilient in challenging situations.
• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children and young people.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.

Milk Education is seeking compassionate, resilient, and dedicated SEMH Support Mentors to work within Primary Schools across Sunderland and South Tyneside.

This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning, regulate emotions, build positive relationships, and achieve success both academically and personally.

As an SEMH Support Mentor, you will be a trusted adult and positive role model, providing tailored support to help children feel safe, engaged, and confident within the school environment.
