Job summary

Vision For Education Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Children’s Mental Health Assistant in Tameside to support pupils with SEMH needs in a classroom setting. This term-time role offers hands-on support to promote emotional wellbeing and learning progress under the guidance of teachers.

The role provides valuable experience in SEMH, mental health or pastoral support, with pay £500–£525 per week PAYE, and start date in November 2026. Excellent team environment and professional development await.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children, young people, or vulnerable adults, ideally with SEMH or mental health needs
• Patient, adaptable and empathetic, able to respond to each pupil’s emotional and educational needs
• Committed to promoting pupils’ wellbeing, resilience and personal development
• Reliable, proactive, and a strong team player
• Right to work in the UK and able to provide two professional references

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support for pupils with SEMH needs
• Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing, social development and learning progress
• Work closely with teachers to promote a positive, nurturing learning environment
• Build meaningful relationships with pupils and contribute to their personal development
