TeacherActive is working with a secondary school in Berwick-upon-Tweed to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with SEMH needs. The role emphasizes building positive relationships and contributing to a safe, inclusive learning environment.

The successful candidate will work alongside teaching staff to encourage engagement, assist with behaviour management, and provide additional in-class support on a short-term basis with an ASAP start. Salary £140-£160 per day, PAYE.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting secondary students with SEMH needs.
• Experience in an educational setting with children or young people.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• Patient and resilient approach to supporting learners.

Responsibilities

• Support SEMH students in the classroom alongside teaching staff.
• Encourage engagement and manage behaviour to create a positive learning environment.
• Provide additional support where required to ensure student progression.
