The ideal candidate will have QTS and experience working with students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, demonstrating compassion and adaptive teaching methods.
TimePlan Education is currently recruiting for a qualified and passionate Science Teacher to join a highly supportive team at a specialist school for boys with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school is dedicated to supporting students' emotional well-being alongside their academic progress, creating a nurturing and structured environment for all learners.
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated educator who can tailor lessons to meet individual needs, promote emotional resilience, and foster a love of learning in their students.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging and accessible science lessons, using innovative teaching methods to inspire curiosity and enthusiasm.
Adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH and additional learning needs.
Create a safe and supportive learning environment that prioritises students' emotional and mental well-being.
Promote emotional regulation, self-confidence, and positive behaviour through consistent routines and strong relationships.
Work collaboratively with other professionals, including teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral staff.
Establish and maintain strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers to support each student's progress.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) - Primary or Secondary specialism welcomed.
Have experience teaching students with a range of special educational needs, particularly SEMH.
Be confident in delivering science across KS3 (and possibly KS4), adapting content as needed.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and behaviour support strategies.
Be resilient, empathetic, and calm under pressure.
Hold or be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS on the update service.
