Job summary

Harris Lee is recruiting a Class Teacher for a specialist SEMH primary school in Swindon, supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. The role is permanent, four days a week (Mon-Thu), 26 hours weekly, with a salary in the MPS–UPS range.

The successful candidate will teach KS1 or KS2, adapt lessons for individual needs, and collaborate with Teaching Assistants in a nurturing environment that prioritises pupil development and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Must have QTS with experience teaching KS1 and/or KS2.
• Strong knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum.
• Experience differentiating lessons to meet pupil needs.
• Experience using assessment to monitor and support progress.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons.
• Teach across KS1 or KS2 curriculum.
• Differentiate learning for individual pupil needs.
• Set learning targets based on prior attainment.
• Assess and track pupil progress.
• Create a positive, structured classroom environment.
• Promote positive behaviour and support emotional and social development.
• Work closely with Teaching Assistants and other professionals.
• Develop positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
