Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join our educational provision in Hillingdon, Greater London. The role focuses on delivering high-quality teaching and support to pupils with SEMH needs within a multidisciplinary team.

You will plan differentiated lessons, develop IEPs, monitor progress and provide pastoral support to promote emotional wellbeing. Collaboration with SLT, therapists and external agencies will be essential for holistic pupil development.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised equivalent.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Education or a related field.
  • Proven experience of teaching pupils with SEMH needs within a school or specialist setting.
  • Experience of planning and delivering differentiated lessons addressing complex behavioural and emotional needs.
  • Understanding of statutory frameworks relating to SEMH, safeguarding and SEND.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs of pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
  • Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans in collaboration with colleagues, parents and external agencies.
  • Monitor and assess pupils' progress, adapting teaching strategies accordingly to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Provide pastoral support that promotes pupils' emotional wellbeing and resilience within the school setting.
  • Maintain accurate records of pupil attainment, behaviour and attendance in line with school policies and statutory requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals including senior leadership, support staff, therapists and external agencies to support holistic pupil development.
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of the SEMH curriculum and resources.
  • Promote a safe, respectful and inclusive classroom environment that encourages positive behaviour and pupil engagement.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings, including those with parents and carers, to discuss pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to keep up to date with best practises and statutory guidance related to SEMH provision.

We are seeking a dedicated Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Teacher to join our educational provision in Hillingdon. The role involves delivering high-quality teaching and support to pupils with SEMH needs, fostering their academic progress alongside their personal development. The successful candidate will work within a supportive multidisciplinary team to create a positive and inclusive learning environment tailored to the individual needs of each pupil.

  • Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • Resilience and patience in managing challenging behaviour.
  • Competence in using educational technology and software to support teaching and learning.
  • Postgraduate qualification or training in SEMH, special educational needs or educational psychology.
  • Experience of multi-agency working and knowledge of external support services.
  • Training in behaviour management techniques and therapeutic approaches.
  • Based within a school environment in Greater London, providing education to pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Full-time hours with occasional requirement to attend meetings or events outside standard school hours.
  • Regular interaction with pupils who may display challenging behaviours requiring a calm and patient approach.
  • Collaborative team working with opportunities for professional development and career progression.
