Job description

About this Role

We are looking for a passionate, experienced and dedicated SEMH Manager to lead our specialist Grow Provision at Cooks Spinney Primary Academy and Nursery in Harlow.

Grow supports primary-aged children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, providing a nurturing, structured and supportive environment where pupils can develop the confidence, resilience and skills they need to succeed.

As SEMH Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the provision, leading and supporting a dedicated team to deliver high-quality, personalised support and interventions. You will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and engagement in learning, while working closely with families, schools and external professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes for every child.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting difference to children's lives, helping them overcome barriers to learning and supporting successful transitions back into mainstream education wherever appropriate.

About You

We are looking for someone who is compassionate, resilient and committed to making a positive difference to the lives of children with SEMH needs. You will have experience of supporting children with complex emotional and behavioural needs, alongside a strong understanding of trauma-informed approaches, positive behaviour support and safeguarding.

You will be a confident and approachable leader who can motivate and support colleagues, build positive relationships with pupils and families, and remain calm and solution-focused in challenging situations. Above all, you will believe that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of the barriers they may face, and have the enthusiasm, patience and determination to help them reach their full potential.

About the School

Cooks Spinney Primary Academy and Nursery is a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Harlow, Essex, and part of BMAT Education. We are committed to providing a safe, supportive and inspiring learning environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their very best.

Our ethos, "There are no limits to our learning," reflects our belief that every child has the potential to succeed when given the right opportunities, encouragement and support. Our specialist Grow Provision is an important part of our commitment to inclusion, providing targeted support for primary-aged children experiencing social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

Through strong relationships, personalised approaches and close collaboration with families and partner schools, we aim to help children build the foundations for future success. We are proud of our caring school community and the dedication of our staff, who work together to ensure every child feels valued, supported and ready to learn.

If you share our commitment to inclusion and are passionate about transforming outcomes for children, we would love to hear from you.
