Job summary

Henry Blue Ltd in Milton Keynes is seeking a part-time SEMH Learning Support Assistant to support young people with SEMH needs in an alternative education setting. You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, assist with classroom management and help students engage, build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

This term-time role runs 8:30am-3:30pm with pay of £15.00 per hour, offering ongoing opportunity to make a difference in students’ lives.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people with SEMH, challenging behaviour, education or care is beneficial.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Patient, resilient and approachable.
• Able to remain calm and consistent when managing challenging situations.
• Passionate about supporting young people and helping them achieve their potential.
• Transferable experience will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to young people.
• Support students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with students.
• Encourage engagement, confidence and positive behaviour.
• Support students within the classroom and wider educational environment.
• Work closely with teaching and support staff to provide consistent support.
