Job summary

Guardian Jobs in Dagenham is seeking a SEMH Learning Support Assistant to support a secondary student with SEMH needs. You will provide 1:1 support to help the pupil access learning and regulate emotions.

With Team Teach training and experience, you will work alongside teachers, the SENCO, and pastoral staff to implement behaviour strategies and build positive relationships throughout the school day. This is a full-time, term-time only position.

Qualifications

• Holds a valid Team Teach qualification (essential).
• Experience supporting children/young people with SEMH or behavioural needs.
• Calm, resilient and confident in managing challenging behaviour.
• Able to build positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Excellent communication skills and a nurturing approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for a student with SEMH needs.
• Help the student access learning and regulate emotions.
• Support positive relationships throughout the school day.
• Collaborate with teachers, the SENCO and pastoral staff to implement behaviour strategies.
