Job summary

Chellaston Academy in the East Midlands is seeking a Learning Mentor to support students at risk of exclusion, delivering academic and pastoral help through in-class support, small groups and targeted interventions, with a focus on literacy and numeracy.

You will plan structured sessions, help students build resilience and independence, work closely with teaching and pastoral staff, and contribute to a calm, safe learning environment across the academy.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with SEMH needs.
• Ability to build positive professional relationships.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child development.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic and pastoral support to students.
• Lead small-group sessions and targeted interventions, especially in literacy and numeracy.
• Plan and deliver structured sessions and life-skills activities to promote independence and resilience.
• Collaborate with teaching and pastoral teams to remove barriers to learning and promote positive behaviour.
