Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd in Walker (Newcastle) is seeking a full-time SEMH Learning Mentor to support pupils with emotional and behavioural needs. You will help learners build confidence and resilience and foster positive attitudes towards learning.

You’ll work closely with school staff to deliver targeted interventions, support emotional regulation, and sustain consistent relationships that promote progression and achievement.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or behavioural needs.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Empathetic, patient and professional in schools.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils throughout the school day.
• Build positive relationships based on trust and respect.
• Encourage engagement with learning and progress.
• Deliver targeted interventions for SEMH needs.
• Support emotional regulation strategies and positive behaviour.
• Work with pastoral and teaching teams to monitor progress.
• Recognise and celebrate learner milestones.
