Job summary

Kingsway Park High School in Rochdale is seeking an experienced SEMH Inclusion Practitioner to join Seacole, our Personalised Pathways Provision. This role focuses on practical SEMH expertise and helping students engage with education.

You will build trusting relationships, deliver targeted interventions, and collaborate with staff, families and external professionals to support reintegration into mainstream lessons.

Qualifications

• Proven experience of supporting young people with significant SEMH needs and behaviours that challenge.
• Ability to respond calmly with sound professional judgement in challenging situations.
• Understanding that behaviour can be a form of communication and showing patience and consistency.
• Resilience, adaptability and strong boundaries in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with students needing individualised SEMH support.
• Deliver and adapt targeted SEMH interventions to develop emotional regulation and coping strategies.
• Respond confidently to challenging behaviour using de-escalation and relational approaches.
• Support individual and small-group learning, adapting activities to students' needs.
• Contribute to personalised support and reintegration plans for returning to mainstream lessons.
• Collaborate with Seacole Lead, families and professionals to secure progress for students.
