Job summary

Veritas-Education-Recruitmen is seeking a passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HTLA) for a specialist SEMH School in Halewood, Liverpool. You will support children and young people with SEMH needs, helping them access learning in a safe, structured environment and develop confidence, resilience and positive relationships throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Experience working with children with SEMH/SEND is highly desirable.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach when supporting pupils.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and delivery of differentiated learning activities for SEMH/SEND pupils.
• Lead small-group and individual learning sessions.
• Use positive behaviour strategies to support emotional wellbeing.
• Collaborate with staff, parents, and external professionals.
• Support EHCP targets and progress monitoring.
• Contribute to safeguarding and inclusive practice.
• Provide cover or lead activities as required.
