Job summary

Connex Education is recruiting a Behaviour Mentor / Youth Worker for a specialist SEMH primary setting in Knowle, Solihull. This long-term, full-time role offers consistent hours and the opportunity to support pupils with SEMH needs throughout the school day.

The role requires resilience, patience and strong behaviour management. Backgrounds in youth work, support work, coaching or mentoring are welcomed. A driver with access to a vehicle is preferred due to the semi-rural location.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH, SEND, or additional needs.
• Backgrounds in youth work, support work, residential care, coaching, education, or mentoring are welcomed.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• A calm, positive, and resilient approach.
• Team Teach training is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Supporting children with SEMH needs throughout the school day
• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Helping children regulate their emotions and behaviour
• Supporting learning within the classroom and during interventions
• Promoting engagement, confidence, and independence
• Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to achieve positive outcomes
