Job summary

Academics is seeking an enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistant in Reading to support students with social, emotional and mental health needs. You will provide 1:1 and small group support, assist with emotional regulation, and help create a safe, caring classroom environment.

Start ASAP, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm. Pay is £93-£110 per day and salary will reflect qualifications and experience in line with the school's policy.

Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain valuable experience supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health needs?

A Secondary SEMH School in Reading is looking for a caring and enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for aspiring Psychologists, Therapists, Counsellors or Teachers to gain hands‑on experience in an SEMH setting.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students.
• Support students with emotional regulation, confidence and engagement.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with young people.
• Work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to create a safe, supportive environment.
