Disability North is seeking a reliable, compassionate part-time home helper to support a busy family in Skipton. The role covers general housework, light cleaning, laundry, meal prep, basic admin, and helping to maintain a calm home environment around four children and a parent with a chronic condition.
Hours are Mon, Tue, Fri and Sun 4pm-7pm with an additional 8 flexible hours during the week. £18 per hour.
I am a parent of four children, two of whom are autistic. Our home is lively, busy, and full of activity, and I am looking for reliable and compassionate support to help our family thrive.
I have a rare autoimmune condition that limits my mobility and energy levels, so I need consistent, practical support around the home. My children are home educated, which works well for us and allows us to manage our needs together, but it also means I have little downtime and no nearby family support.
This role is varied and hands-on, supporting both me and the smooth running of our home. Key tasks include:
The right person will be kind, patient, and adaptable, with an understanding or willingness to learn about autism and chronic illness. You'll need to be comfortable working in a busy household with children and able to balance being proactive with respecting our family's rhythm and routines.
