Job summary

Mitie Security in Belfast is seeking a Security Team Leader to oversee a team of Protection Officers within a prestigious aviation and manufacturing client site. This is a hands‑on leadership role focused on delivering a safe, secure and resilient environment while maintaining high service standards.

You will lead by example, manage day‑to‑day operations and incident response, and build strong client relationships. Essential: valid UK SIA licence and driving licence; right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in security leadership or supervisory role.
• Valid SIA Door Supervisor licence (CCTV licence or willingness to obtain).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• IT literate (Microsoft Office).
• Full UK driving licence and access to transport.
• Right to work in the UK with 5-year checkable background.
• British nationality or 5 years UK residency (CTC clearance requirement).

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the on-site security team, ensuring effective resourcing and absence management.
• Maintain agreed service levels and elevate risks or issues to the Operations Manager.
• Build strong working relationships with the client and internal stakeholders.
• Oversee security operations including access control, patrols, control room and CCTV activity.
• Take a leadership role during security, safety and emergency incidents.
• Monitor officer performance, addressing low-level issues in line with company processes.
• Manage training requirements and compliance records for the team.
• Support employment relations matters on site as required.
• Ensure all site instructions, policies and procedures are followed.
• Promote Mitie's values, professionalism and a strong safety culture.

Hourly rate: £17.50

Shift pattern: 4 on, 4 off (days and nights), 12h shifts

Weekly hours: ~ 42h

You'll complete mandatory and specialist training including:
First Aid (IEC), fire safety, aviation security, control room and CCTV operations, spill response and emergency procedures.

Person specification

Essential:

• Proven experience in a security leadership or supervisory role

• Valid SIA Door Supervisor licence (CCTV licence or willingness to obtain)
