Job summary

ESS – Defence, Energy and Government Services is seeking an experienced Lead Security Guard to supervise a Security Officers team and ensure first-class security services across a site in the UK. The role requires overseeing patrols, incident responses, rotas, CCTV and reporting.

Applicants should hold a valid Frontline SIA licence and demonstrate strong leadership, communication and organisational skills. Flexibility for shift work and experience with NHS/healthcare settings are beneficial.

Qualifications

• Valid Frontline SIA Licence is essential.
• Experience leading or supervising security teams.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
• Good IT skills and familiarity with security systems and reporting software.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise workloads and make decisions.
• Experience producing incident and accident reports.
• Strong English communication skills and shift flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and support a team of Security Officers to deliver a high-quality service 365 days a year.
• Assist in planning and delivery of security and car parking operations across the site.
• Ensure security procedures, SLAs and site policies are followed.
• Produce and manage security team rotas and staffing schedules.
• Conduct and oversee internal and external patrols.
• Monitor and respond to security, fire and emergency incidents.
• Complete and review accident, incident and investigation reports.
• Support departments with security risk identification and provide advice on security matters.
• Manage key control and lost property processes.
• Operate and oversee CCTV systems in line with legislation and procedures.
• Deliver monthly performance reports and security management information.
• Liaise with external agencies, including Police and emergency services.
• Ensure training, development and performance reviews for the team.
