Job summary

Frontline Security Solutions is seeking a Technical Design Engineer to review tender documentation for compliance and to support sales and estimating with system designs. The role blends home working with client visits and office work at Chalfont St Peter.

The position is a 12-month fixed term contract with the potential to become permanent, offering a salary up to £45,000 and a comprehensive benefits package. Applicants should be able to travel to client sites and work within a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge and experience in electronic security systems industry would be preferred.
• Strong practical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team.
• Full UK Driving Licence (or working towards obtaining one).
• Ability to work at customer sites and travel as required.
• Willingness to undertake training and professional development.
• Experience using CAD software
• Microsoft Office package

Responsibilities

• Provide clear & detailed updates and progress reports for tender technical reviews, design projects and pre-qualification questionnaires.
• Work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the business at all levels on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Manage the production, and produce complete system designs for live and upcoming projects, including layout drawings, panel elevations, door elevations, single line schematics, specifications, device schedules, document schedules, technical submittals, RAMS, programme of works, procurement schedule.
• Liaise with project managers, sales and estimators to ensure the design meets the client’s design requirements.
• Attend sites to survey as required.
• Carry out design services as required by customers and agreed with sales.
• Manage the design change process.
• Develop and standardize company design and preconstruction documentation.
• Support the development of, and set out company installation quality guides and playbooks.
• Maintain awareness of latest industry regulations and standards ensuring the business remains compliant where required.
• Identify opportunities to improve design quality, consistency and efficiency.
