Embark on a Mission to Fortify Amazon's Defenses as a Support Engineer with the Vulnerability Management & Remediation Operations team!

Amazon Security is seeking an experienced and innovative Support Engineer specialising in cybersecurity to join our Vulnerability Management and Remediation Operations (VMRO) team in London, UK. The VMRO team is a global team responsible for assessing, detecting, and driving the remediation of vulnerabilities across the Amazon ecosystem.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Support vulnerability detection campaigns by working closely with Campaign Owners to launch and improve campaigns across Amazon.
  2. Assess and negotiate with customers to reduce security risks by engaging with teams to remediate critical vulnerabilities.
  3. Collaborate with builder teams to implement security fixes and improvements.
  4. Understand technical details of vulnerabilities affecting Amazon's infrastructure, services, and applications.
  5. Review and analyze common vulnerability disclosures and evaluate potential impacts.
  6. Help triage vulnerabilities and contribute to impact and detection logic assessments.
  7. Contribute to automation of repetitive tasks.
  8. Update documentation and share knowledge across global peers.
  9. Participate in an on-call rotation for continuous monitoring and remediation.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field, or 3+ years of equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of security concepts and a security mindset.
  • Knowledge of computer and network vulnerabilities and controls.
  • Ability to assess risk and prioritize in a business context.
  • Effective communication skills in technical and business settings.
  • Experience with cloud security configurations (AWS), IAM, and related technologies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years in Security Operations, audits, or vulnerability lifecycle management.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to change.
  • Passion for learning and growth in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with AWS virtualization and security services.
  • Relevant certifications (CISSP, SANS, ISC2, CompTIA).
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of web protocols, attacks, Linux/Unix tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global team.
