Job summary

HP4 Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Security Service Engineer to join a growing security systems business. The role covers a local/regional patch including Guildford and surrounding areas with a strong basic salary, company van, overtime and call-out earnings.

You will service, fault-find and repair intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and other electronic security systems across customer sites. A full UK driving licence and call‑out rota availability are required.

Qualifications

• Experience across intruder alarms, CCTV/IP CCTV, access control and door entry systems.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostics skills across electronic security systems.
• Proven ability to service and repair security systems on customer sites.
• Experience with a range of commercial and residential systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Planned preventative maintenance and reactive service across your patch.
• Fault finding and repairs on security systems.
• Attend customer breakdowns and call-outs as required.
• Test and commission systems and complete service documentation.

We are recruiting for an experienced Security Service Engineer / Security Systems Engineer / Field Service Engineer to join an established and growing security systems business, covering North Sussex and Southern Surrey.

The role is predominantly local and regional, covering areas such as Guildford, Crawley, Horsham, Reigate, Redhill, Dorking, East Grinstead and surrounding areas.

Importantly - this is an out-of-London role, giving you the opportunity to work closer to home while still benefiting from a strong basic salary, company vehicle, overtime and call-out earnings.

The Role - Security Service Engineer

You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, fault-finding and repairing a range of electronic security systems across customer sites.

Typical responsibilities will include:

• Planned preventative maintenance
• Reactive service and fault finding
• Repairing and maintaining security systems
• Attending customer breakdowns and call-outs
• Testing and commissioning systems
• Carrying out system upgrades and modifications
• Completing service documentation and reports
• Liaising professionally with customers and site contacts
• Working independently across your allocated geographical area

Systems Experience

We are particularly interested in engineers with experience across:

• Intruder Alarms
• CCTV / IP CCTV
• Access Control
• Door Entry
• Electronic Security Systems
• Security Alarms
• Networked security systems
• Fault finding and diagnostics
• Planned preventative maintenance
• Service and repair

Experience with recognised security manufacturers is advantageous.

About You

We are looking for someone with solid hands-on engineering experience, a professional approach and the ability to work independently while representing the business well with customers.

A full UK driving licence is required, along with the flexibility to participate in an agreed call-out rota.

The position is ideally suited to engineers living in or around: Guildford, Woking, Godalming, Cranleigh, Dorking, Redhill, Reigate, Horley, Crawley, Horsham, Haywards Heath, East Grinstead, Burgess Hill, Billingshurst, South Surrey, North Sussex and surrounding areas.

The emphasis is on local and regional work rather than London-based work.
