Job summary

Symphony Communication Services is seeking a Security Placement Student to gain hands-on experience in protecting critical infrastructure and supporting security operations, risk management, and compliance initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor, assess, and strengthen security posture while developing core information security skills.

• Education in CS, cybersecurity, IT, or related field.
• Basic network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs) knowledge.
• Familiar with Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Security Monitoring & Incident Support: assist SOC with alerts, logs, triage events.
• Vulnerability & Asset Assessment: assist scans, track remediation, manage asset inventories.
• IAM: audit user permissions and access controls across tools and cloud.
• Security Awareness: draft security communications and phishing simulations.
• Compliance & Risk: gather evidence for audits (ISO/SOC 2) and risk assessments.
• Automation & Scripting: write basic scripts to automate security tasks.
