Job summary

Sodexo Ltd is recruiting a Senior Security Supervisor in York for a full-time, on-site role. You will lead the Security Operations team, manage shifts, rotations and onboarding, and oversee incident responses to protect clients, customers and employees.

Success requires a current SIA licence, prior security leadership experience, strong communication, and a proactive, customer-focused approach. The role may involve nights and bank holidays, with opportunities for training and development within

Qualifications

• A current SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding licence is required.
• Previous experience in the security industry is essential.
• Experience supervising or leading a security team in a busy environment.
• Confident in managing shifts, rotas and operational cover.
• Experience supporting training, onboarding and development of colleagues.
• Strong incident-management and problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of access control, patrols and security procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confident engaging with clients, management, contractors and employees at all levels.
• Good IT skills with accurate record-keeping (electronic and written).
• Calm under pressure with good decision-making abilities.
• Proactive, professional and customer-focused approach.
• Flexible to work nights, weekends and bank holidays.
• A clean driving licence may be required for driving duties.
• Experience with weighbridge operations or facilities/security operations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate day-to-day activities of the Security Operations team.
• Manage shift operations and site deployment.
• Prepare and manage staff rotas and arrange additional cover.
• Lead onboarding and induction of new Security Officers.
• Deliver training and conduct competency checks.
• Perform annual PDRs for direct reports.
• Coach colleagues and maintain high professionalism.
• Provide clear direction and make operational decisions when needed.
