Job summary

Sodexo in York is seeking a Receptionist/Security Officer to join our team on a full-time basis. You will provide a professional reception, manage contractor and visitor access, and support site security procedures during a 37.5 hour week.

You will hold a current SIA Frontline Guarding Licence, have IT skills, excellent communication, and the ability to stay calm during emergencies, while building positive relationships with contractors and colleagues, with access to Sodexo benefits.

Qualifications

• SIA Frontline Guarding Licence is essential.
• Good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office and computer-based systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional, approachable and customer-focused attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide a professional, friendly and welcoming reception service to contractors, visitors and colleagues.
• Manage contractor and visitor access, ensuring all site security procedures are followed.
• Assist contractors and visitors with queries, providing clear information and guidance.
• Ensure contractors comply with site policies and security requirements.
• Respond promptly and professionally to reception requests and security concerns.
• Maintain accurate contractor access records, incident reports and site safety documentation.
• Monitor site radio communications and follow established procedures.
• Support emergency procedures, including fire alarms and evacuations.
