You will provide technical leadership for the Security Operations Centre team, overseeing security monitoring, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management to protect HM Land Registry's technical assets. The role offers a salary of £46,058 - £57,400, depending on interview assessment, along with excellent Civil Service benefits and a 28% pension contribution. It is based in Plymouth with flexible, hybrid working arrangements.

Job Description

1. Lead technical consolidation and improvement activities, guiding technicians within the IT Operations Practice and supporting cross-team solutions aligned with Technology and Business Strategies.
2. Collaborate with Lead Infrastructure Engineers and security experts to develop and maintain security controls, including monitoring, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management. Develop scenario-based run books for security incident response.
3. Create and refine vulnerability assessment tools to increase awareness of security threats, advising operational teams on security controls.
4. Engage with project teams to ensure security considerations are integrated into new and existing services.

Person Specification

You should have extensive experience in a Security Operations Centre or operational security environment, with a proven track record of leading technical teams. A degree in IT or a related field, or significant equivalent experience, is required. Excellent communication skills, experience in Incident Response, proficiency with SIEM systems, and knowledge of Cyber Threat Intelligence are essential. You must also be capable of managing technical risks and working with ITSM systems to prioritize workloads.
