Job summary

Fynity in Leeds is seeking an experienced SOC Analyst to sit between L1 and L2, a hands-on role with leadership responsibilities. You will triage and investigate security incidents while also mentoring a small shift of three analysts and acting as their escalation point.

The role progresses from SOC Analyst to Shift Lead and beyond, with a mix of on-site and remote work across a 4-on/4-off pattern. This is a stepping stone into SOC leadership.

Qualifications

• Hands-on SOC experience in a commercial environment.
• Strong incident triage, investigation and escalation skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR.
• SentinelOne experience would be a real advantage.
• Understanding of MITRE ATT&CK and common security frameworks.
• Experience with ITSM/ticketing platforms such as ServiceNow.
• Some mentoring, coaching or supporting junior analysts.
• Ready to take their first real step into SOC leadership.

Responsibilities

Leeds | £38,500 + 20% Shift Allowance (£46,200) | 4 on / 4 off,

Are you an experienced SOC Analyst looking for that next step, but not quite ready for a full Team Lead role?

I'm looking for a SOC Analyst with commercial experience who is ready to take on more responsibility within an established SOC. The role sits between L1 and L2 (think of it as an L1.5 role ) and a genuine stepping stone into leadership.

You’ll still be predominantly hands-on, triaging and investigating security incidents, but you’ll also take responsibility for a small shift of around three SOC Analysts. You’ll act as their escalation point, monitor SLAs, QA tickets, lead shift handovers and help coach and mentor the team.

What we’re looking for

Shift pattern is 4 on / 4 off – 7am to 7pm, with office attendance required in Leeds when your day shift falls on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday, the rest remote.

There is a clear progression route through the SOC SOC Analyst → Shift Lead → L2/Senior SOC Analyst → Team Lead
