Job summary

Fynity in Leeds is seeking a SOC Analyst stepping into shift leadership. You will continue hands-on triage and investigations while managing a small shift of ~3 analysts, acting as escalation point, monitoring SLAs and leading handovers.

The role sits between L1 and L2, offering a clear progression into SOC leadership with office attendance in Leeds on selected days and rest of the time remote.

Qualifications

• Hands-on SOC experience in a commercial SOC.
• Strong incident triage, investigation and escalation skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR.
• SentinelOne experience would be a real advantage.
• Understanding of MITRE ATT&CK and common security frameworks.
• Experience with ITSM/ticketing platforms such as ServiceNow.
• Some previous mentoring, coaching or supporting junior analysts.
• Good customer communication skills.
• Someone ready to take their first real step into SOC leadership.

SOC Analyst – Step into Shift Leadership

Leeds | £38,500 + 20% Shift Allowance (£46,200) | 4 on / 4 off,

Are you an experienced SOC Analyst looking for that next step, but not quite ready for a full Team Lead role?

I'm looking for a SOC Analyst with commercial experience who is ready to take on more responsibility within an established SOC. The role sits between L1 and L2 (think of it as an L1.5 role ) and a genuine stepping stone into leadership.

You’ll still be predominantly hands‑on, triaging and investigating security incidents, but you’ll also take responsibility for a small shift of around three SOC Analysts. You’ll act as their escalation point, monitor SLAs, QA tickets, lead shift handovers and help coach and mentor the team.

What we're looking for

Shift pattern is 4 on / 4 off – 7am to 7pm, with office attendance required in Leeds when your day shift falls on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday, the rest remote.
