Job summary

Anchor Group Services is seeking a Security Officer to join the team at Marlands Shopping Centre in Southampton. Working Saturdays and Sundays, 10:15-22:15, you will patrol the centre, monitor activity and respond to incidents to keep visitors and staff safe.

The ideal candidate holds a valid SIA frontline licence (DS or SG), has customer-service skills, and can communicate clearly. Anchor offers training and benefits through the Anchor Academy and related programmes.

Qualifications

• Full 5-year employment checkable history.
• Essential: Valid frontline SIA licence DS or SG.
• Customer service experience and confidence handling conflict.
• Flexible to meet job requirements.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Smart appearance and be well-groomed.
• Reliable and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Protecting the client’s property, people and assets by providing security services as directed.
• Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing offenders of policy.
• Escalate incidents promptly to Control Room/Shift Manager/Operations Manager.
• Operate and monitor site CCTV equipment.
• Complete reports by recording observations, occurrences and surveillance activities.
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements and site procedures.
• Provide first-line support to customers and visitors on site with professionalism.
• Understand customer needs and respond accordingly.
• Maintain professional conduct at all times.
