Salary: £21,408 per annum (actual annual)/£13 per hour
We're looking for a reliable and professional
Security Officer to join Estates and Facilities at our Queens Drive campus. This is a term time only position - ideal for someone seeking a stable, purposeful role with time off during school holidays.
What You Will Do As a Security Officer
As part of our on-site security team, you'll play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for staff, students and visitors. Your responsibilities will include:
- Patrolling and monitoring college premises, including CCTV surveillance.
- Responding to incidents and supporting behaviour management.
- Assisting with emergency procedures and health and safety checks.
- Promoting a positive and respectful college culture.
- Supporting ID checks and managing unauthorised access.
- Collaborating with staff, emergency services and safeguarding teams.
- This is an active role that requires a calm, confident presence and a commitment to student welfare.
Experience/Qualifications Of a Security Officer
We're seeking someone who is:
- Organised and observant - a strong sense of responsibility.
- Confident in handling incidents - and using de-escalation techniques.
- Comfortable using IT systems - for reporting and monitoring.
- A clear communicator - able to engage with students and staff professionally.
- Committed to safeguarding - and promoting a safe learning environment.
- Experience in a similar role or setting is helpful, but not essential. We value the right mindset and a willingness to learn.
