Job Description

Job Role: Security Officer

Working Hours: 4 on 4 off shift pattern (average 42 hours per week) - various hours.

Pay: £13.46 per hour

Location: Southampton,Hampshire

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Anchor Group Services,for an experienced Security Officer to join our established security team basedat The Marlands Shopping Centre in Southampton.

The successful candidate must have a valid SIA Licence as aminimum, with CCTV preferred but not essential as training will beprovided. You will be required toprovide a high level of customer service to visitors in the centre, completepatrols and remain vigilant at all times.

Duties include:

• Protecting the client’s property, people and/orassets by providing security services in direct accordance with the sitespublished Assignment Instructions (AI’s) and site-specific procedures
  
• Preventing losses and damage by reportingirregularities; informing offenders of policy and procedures
  
• Preventing and escalating incidents in a timely,accurate and appropriate manner to the Control Room/ Shift Manager/OperationsManager/Emergency Services as appropriate for serious incidents
  
• Operating and monitoring site CCTV equipment
  
• Completing reports by recording observations,information, occurrences, and surveillance activities
  
• Maintaining organisation's stability andreputation by complying with legal requirements
  
• Contributing to team effort by accomplishingrelated results as needed
  
• Acting as a first line support to customers andvisitors to site, providing a professional and friendly service
  
• Understanding the needs of our customer, respondaccordingly to customer queries and requests and take appropriate action
  
• Maintaining professional conduct at all times.
  

Requirements

• Full 5-year employment checkable history
  
• Valid frontline SIA licences DS or SG
  
• Customer Service experience and confidence to handleconflict in a correct manner
  
• Flexible to meet the job requirements
  
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  
• Smart appearance and be well-groomed
  
• Reliable and punctual
  
• High level of enthusiasm and passion
  
• Ability to work in a fast-moving environment
