Job summary

Sheffield Forgemasters Engineering Ltd is seeking a Security Shift Officer to join the security function on a 12 month fixed term basis. The role is based at our 64-acre site in Sheffield and involves access control, surveillance, maintenance of security systems and emergency response.

You will work a 4 on / 4 off 12-hour shift pattern (days and nights), average 42 hours per week, including some public holidays.

Qualifications

• Holds a valid SIA Licence.
• Proven security experience.
• Holds a full UK driving licence.
• Proficient with IT software including MS Office and CCTV/access control systems.
• Gatehouse security experience.
• Site security patrolling experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide security cover and operational support to the SFEL estate on a 24 hour basis.
• Follow company security policies under management instruction.
• Provide security to access points.
• Conduct regular security patrols.
• Respond promptly to emergencies/incidents.
• Monitor CCTV, alarms and access systems to ensure a safe and secure environment.
• Report on security systems in accordance with procedures.
• Support colleagues in enforcing security policies and maintaining professional standards.

Job description

At Sheffield Forgemasters we have an exciting opportunity for a Security Shift Officer to join our security function on a 12 month fixed term basis.

This role is based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield. Our security team play a vital role in protecting the Sheffield Forgemasters site through access control, surveillance & monitoring, maintenance of security systems, building security checks and emergency response.

As a Security Shift Officer, you will be delivering a range of security services across all areas of the site and reporting to the Head of Security and Security Manager.

What you’ll be doing

• Working as part of a wider security team to provide security cover and operational support to the main SFEL estate on a 24 hour basis.
• Follow all company security policies & procedures under the direction and instruction of departmental management.
• Providing security to access points.
• Conducting regular security patrols.
• Responding promptly to emergencies / incidents.
• Monitoring CCTV, alarms and access systems to ensure a safe and secure environment.
• Monitoring and reporting on security systems in accordance with company procedures.
• Support colleagues in enforcing company security policies and maintaining professional standards

About You

• Holds a SIA Licence.
• Previous security experience.
• Holds a full UK driving licence.
• Proficient using IT software, including MS Office suite and operating CCTV and access control systems.
• Security Gatehouse experience.
• Site security patrolling experience.

The Working Pattern

This is a full-time role working an average of 42 hours p/w. 12 hour shifts, days & nights, Monday – Sunday, working a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern, which will include working some public holidays.

This role is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.
